Think Small: Foundations of Children’s Work 2020
Are you a new children’s worker or volunteer?
Have you been leading children and want to know more about being an effective leader?
Are you beginning a children’s ministry in your corps or centre?
What is it?
Think Small: Foundations of Children's Work is a foundational training programme for those working in children’s ministry in The Salvation Army. Spanning two in-person training days and six webinars across the year, we cover topics from setting up your environment, to self-care, to family ministry. Our course facilitators include the best children’s workers and leaders across NZ, with guest facilitators calling in from overseas. As part of the programme, you'll also meet with a coach several times during the year to contextualise your learning and set goals for your own work and ministry.
When is it?
Our 2020 programme kicks off in Wellington with in-person training on Saturday 4 April. Webinars run twice a month in May, June and August. We finish with in-person training and graduation on Saturday 5 September.
How much does it cost?
Think Small is free for all students. We value all that our children’s workers and leaders do and wish to invest in them so they can continue to bless their communities. The Territorial Children’s Mission Department cover travel and accommodation costs for the in-person training days. We will also send instructions to all students so they can have free access to video calling software for the webinars.
In addition to the course costs, the Territorial Children’s Mission offer free regular registration for MORE Leadership Conference in July 2020.
